  • Leave me a scenario (one of your own or choose from here) and include any particular preferences as well if you wish.
  • Or, if you want to just leave a comment with a picture or a word as a prompt and suggest which muse of mine you want, that works too! I might just be a bit slow with those.
  • Make a reply asking for anyone here on the subject title.
  • If you choose a character on the maybe list, I will definitely be slow with them.
  • If you know a specific "verse" of character you want, specify. If it's a cross-canon scene and you don't specify, you might get a CR AU.

  • Alternately, if you'd rather place a comment on the muse's contact post. Or if you want to do something a little more privately, let me know and I'll set something up elsewhere.
  • Go to the RNG if you don't have a specific scenario in mind.
  • Have fun!

As Ashley darts around the patch of light and the thing follows her, she turns just in time to spot it. A fox. Really? It's a fox following her? She's actually disappointed and that clearly shows in the way she straightens and her lips turn downwards.

"Really? A fox?" This is followed with a huff. But she's still a Magnus, four lives removed, and so she squats down where she is to see if she can't coax the little guy -- girl? -- out further.

"Hey, it's okay. Not really sure where I am right now, but I'll find somewhere safe to get you. How's that sound?"

Physically, she still looks the same age she was when she died. Probably still acts it in some form. In the last two years, she's had a measure of development and coming to terms with -- understanding, if not actual liking -- but she is still, at her core, the same hotheaded and oftentimes brash young woman she always was. She is, and always will be, Helen's daughter.

Ashley? No, that couldn't be right. God help her, why was it so difficult to go back her human form when she wished? This is particularly irritating, especially considering this is her daughter attempting to coax her closer. It is Ashley, her hair her eyes, her nose, the way she holds herself. It's not a trick, not in her head either, and she slowly advances until lowers herself to the concrete in front of her daughter.

It's two of them who don't know where they are, not yet.

She makes a soft noise in frustration, a snick-snick of a whine.

Ashley shifts so one of her knees slides to rest against the ground and she finally reaches out towards the fox as it scoots closer. Everything in its body language, that she can read, suggests that it's either afraid of something or just thinks itself subordinate to her. Either way, that should make things easier on her.

"Are you gonna let me pick you up?" she wonders, slowly reaching with both hands now. She keeps an eye on the fox's movements, not because she is in any way afraid of getting bitten -- there's no way this thing can do enough damage to her to matter -- but more because she wants to make sure it doesn't end up hurting itself.

Her mom would never forgive her. Well, she would, but Ashley would feel pretty guilty about it.

So instead, she purses her lips and tries to see if the fox will let her handle it. If so, she'll just pick it up -- very easily, due to her Cabal-given super strength still working; good to know -- and tuck it against her chest, wrapped up in her arms.

"Let's get you somewhere safe, okay?"

Some part of her can't believe it, while the other is caught by John begging her to plan Ashley's funeral, the sound of the silver and turquoise necklace as it she places it in the casket, the sound as she lowers that lid down, the noise her shoes make against the floor as she walks away. Her daughter is not dead.

Her daughter is reaching for her and she is still caught between the past and present, letting Ashley pick her without complaint. Safe was such a relative term. In the end, the Sanctuary she had called home was left in flames, though it had risen in Hollow Earth in a form.

But it had been home, just like her daughter's arms were now. They will go somewhere, anywhere but here, and she will shift at some point. It should be easier inside, Helen hopes. It had been the last time, after all.

Having had two years to come to terms with being dead and deal with the second and third lives she had been given by various beings or gods, Ashley is able to focus on her lifestyle, the way she was raised, instead of her confusion at being somewhere that obviously isn't any part of Teleios or the Castle that she knows of. It could still be either one; they've both changed locations or even made the residents hallucinate. Gave Ashley the wiggins the first time around.

Whatever the case is, Ashley cradles the little fox up to her chest, holding it with both arms when she has a chance. Despite so long being fully powered like she is, she has never lost her instincts, never forgotten the training her mother gave her. So she keeps low, bent over so as not to draw attention from anything else that might be in here, and yet moving as quickly and quietly as she knows how.

When she finally reaches a doorway and pokes her head out, she spies streets that look very familiar. Too familiar. Hilariously, the sight makes her even more suspicious. Because there's no way she's actually in Old City again. She's dead back there. So this has to be a trick from either the Two or the Castle. Ashley dislikes both options.

She huffs. "What the hell are they doing?" she mutters. "Any ideas, little buddy?"

Like the fox actually understands her.

Helen tilts her head a fraction and wiggles a little as if to intimate she could go check it out. Who's going to catch sight of a fox and think anything of it? It'd almost be better if she could erupt into a pigeon, but that doesn't seem very likely - there'd be a wholly different sort of pain if that was the case. She raises her nose a little to what breeze there is and is mildly startled to recognize the familiar scent of Old City, home. It's confusing and a little frightening, if she was being honest. Not that had ever stopped her.

It was best to focus on the task at hand and worry later.

The figures look like they're working on some sort of laptop rig and she has to wonder if the slight glittering substance she can almost see is some sort of rift-like energy. The sheen of it is more of a silvery green. Perhaps it's something better left buried in some ancient tomb than in the hands of people who might exploit it.

They will need a closer look.
