Come on Bo. You can do this.
[ she sighs and paces slightly. her bag is full of various clothing items, and fifteen different drivers licenses (all different names, birthdates, hometowns, etc;). she's sick of running, sick of killing people, sick of being afraid of what she is...whatever she is.

with great hesitation, he knocked, unsure of what would lay on the other side of that door, but prepared to run or defend himself, all the same. ]

Hello. My name is Helen Magnus. May I help you?
[ a lot of people, abnormals, tended to turn up, sometimes having been pointed in her direction, and helen would never turn down someone who clearly needed help. the trouble was figuring out what each one wanted. or needed. ]

Oh dad, I wish you were here. [ she scowls looking at the readings on the screwdriver. ] I can't make heads or tails of this. [ but then she grins, because that makes it more fun. it's much more of an adventure, probably just like the sort the doctor and donna would get into. ]
action; apparently nothing XD
making her way downstairs, helen pulls open the front door, slips past it, and starts walking for the woman. she's got her gun in her back pocket, ready for anything. ]
May I help you?

i don't need to read billy shakespeare;
"It's not fair. Technically, I'm like a gazillion and I've been on way more dangerous missions than this. Can't I just sit in the truck with Henry? I hate being left behind!"
The house was too big and too empty, despite an entire wing full of people who were just as displaced and otherwise homeless as she was. Perhaps that's why she hated it, even if she wouldn't admit it to herself. Fellow homeless freaks, just as homeless and full of freakiness, except she doubted any of them were actually an ancient, mystical key-like energy that opened doors to other dimensions. Or had their sister kill herself so you could live this super fake life of yours that was never real to begin with.
"Please?"
i don't need to read billy shakespeare;
Dawn hadn't been a resident of the Sanctuary for very long, especially not by Helen's standards, but she was now a resident and as a physical and emotional minor - despite being the result of some form of transmutation that Helen wasn't sure she quite believed in - so that meant she was under Helen's jurisdiction. Much more so than any of her other residents or employees. In a way, it was like when Ashley had still been young. Every day was discovery, butting heads with the much younger generation. It was precious... and yet it stung. Helen noticed she'd been cutting Dawn off lately, once she'd figured out that connection to her memories of Ashley, and she was trying not to let that taint her relationship with the girl. Dawn didn't know yet and it wasn't fair to her to treat her like this.
Helen sighed. As much as she didn't want Dawn to go - the girl was far too young - she also knew that Dawn was too young and traumatized to be fully left alone. So when Will came into the office, she glanced up at him before reaching over to pat Dawn's hand and then standing up. Walking over to Will, she handed him her radio and the serum she'd planned on using to sedate the Abnormal they would be chasing.
"Magnus?"
"Take Henry and Kate with you. I'm needed here."
He glanced for a split second to Dawn and then nodded, seeming to understand Helen's position.
"I have faith in you three. I know you'll capture it." Capture, not kill.
Will nodded again and took the equipment she'd handed him as he left. Helen shut the door behind him before she walked back over to take her seat on the couch next to Dawn again. "I've decided to stay with you. The others can handle this job without me." She tilted her head just a little so she could look reassuringly into Dawn's eyes. "You won't be left behind this time."

from her pocket, she draws out what looks like strange pin, but is so much more. ] Janeway to Voyager. [ ... ] Must've erected some sort of force field that's blocking communications. I'll need to take that down.
action; | well ilit so there :P
she drops the first cartridge and loads her gun again with quick, fluid motions that should not belong to a woman in a suit and heels. ]
Likely a modified E.M. Shield. [ she pulls out a much more primitive communication device: a simple radio. ] Henry? Henry? [ nothing. ] Damn. [ and nothing from her phone, either. that's worrisome. ] If I'm right, they're also working on a radio-frequency level to trap all levels of communication in or out of this building. We'll need to make it out in order to remove the effects of the shield itself.
[ oh how she hates this organization. ]

There could be a number of reasons for that. What ship do you mean? Perhaps you simply got separated at the dock.

Elena was just...aware of something cold against her skin, against her cheek, her shoulders. Slipping in and out, wavering on the brink of consciousness, she vaguely realized she was lying on steps of -- of somewhere.
There's a groan as she moves, inhales. Something feels wrong. Off. She can't explain it. Or she doesn't want to. She's willing her eyes to slide open, as she has to actually force herself to sit up. It's dark outside, but the moonlight almost feels harsh. Bright.
She shudders, lifting a hand to try and push her fist into the wooden door, to knock at whatever place this was.
Where was she? How did she get here? Why did this place, wherever she was -- why did it feel safe, when nothing seemed right?
heightened. everything seemed heightened. Every inhale, every sound in the night. Even her own actions.
She presses herself against the door now, pushing up, standing, leaning. Another knock, trying to make it louder. Her limbs didn't feel like her own. ]
/crying
Get her to the infirmary.
You got it, Doc. [ henry nods at her as the two of them move in to support the girl, helen taking most of her weight as she snakes an arm around the girl's waist. ]
Easy does it. You're going to be fine.
[ she has to shake the feeling that she knows this girl, but she can't for the life of her put a name to the face. so she shakes it off and nods to her old friend as they pass into the entrance hall and down towards the lower levels of the sanctuary. ]

when time and confusion collide;
It took him a moment to realize there was someone hovering at his side, and as if dying and coming back to life were the most natural thing in the world (well, it was for him), he smiled at the woman and held out a hand. "Captain Jack Harkness."
when time and confusion collide;
"Dr. Helen Magnus. A pleasure to meet you, Captain, though I wish it had been under better circumstances." Chancing a glance at the sky, she searched for any signs of whatever he had fallen out of before she looked back to him. "Care to tell me what exactly just happened or should I make something up?"
